Welcome to over1201, another game in my series designed for players with a
high JDPR rating. Note that, once 7 players have signed on, I will check
all the ratings and I will boot, with prejudice, anyone who has a JDPR
rating that is under 1201. I don't care if you are top of YARS or that
ridiculous HoF system, this is a game for high-ranking JDPR players. If
you have a high YARS, you can still qualify for one of my "toprate" games
though.

I will set down a couple of rules here, these are not all-inclusive but
represent a general guideline of how I will run the game.

(1) I will not grant any extensions under any circumstances (beyond
statutory holidays) for the first month. Don't even ask. If you will
need an extension, then wait for one of my other games. Otherwise, I will
explain how to phase orders but that is the best I can offer.

(2) I give one week extensions liberally, if sufficient warning has been
given. I reserve the right not to grant an extension if the original
request was not made at least 72 hours in advance. I reserve the right to
reject any request for more than a one week extension. I may or may not
allow a players vote on such an issue.

(3) I may ask that, if an extension request is made, that orders be
entered for the current phase.

(4) I must be reminded within the last 24 hours before an extension
request is suppose to occur. Otherwise, I am not responsible. Note that
I am making myself a "diplomacy calender" to keep track of this stuff but
I would still appreciate the warnings. I am a University student, and my
life gets rather hectic at times.

(5) Grey press is set, use it! I will explain how if you don't know.

(6) I tolerate almost any level of insults as long as they remain in
character. I will be the judge of what is in character and what is not.

(7) I frown on draws. I reserve the right not to set a draw clock at any
point. For those who like the 3-way draw, I recommend the Hundred variant
to sharpen your paring-down skills.

(8) I don't mind observer press at all. I don't care if they analyze the
game and decide that Russia should be attacked and say so. Good players
should be able to deal with a peanut gallery.

(9) I expect timeliness, grace is rather short, so don't see it as extra
time. My policy on late negotiations is as follows: Players who have
their orders in may send press to anyone, even a late power. Late powers
cannot send press to anyone except the GM. If I ever suspect that someone
is going intentionally late in order to garner more negotiation time, I
reserve the right to remove that person from the game. Similar policy for
those who send press and are late (unless they send orders and press in
the same message, grey area, I accept it)

(10) This is not a democracy, I have the final say in every matter :)

(11) Despite what #10 sounds like, I have yet to go against the wishes of
the players and I am unlikely to make a first out of it any time soon.

(12) Don't break gunboat, don't drop out, have fun, etc. etc.

The quality of play, if it is anything like the other top games, will be
high. Press volume will be large, silent players will probably get
eliminated. If you can't deal with that, don't sign on to the game.

Enjoy!

David Hertzman
(GM of over1201)

Index is the sum of squares of the number of supply centers divided by the
number of players. It is a measure of how far the game has progressed.
